We corrected the homework: Grammar Bank 3A (ex. a and b, p. 136) and Reading task: filling the gaps from photocopy. Then we did an activity in groups to practise the superlatives in which we were tourists asking about different things about Madrid. Later we watched a video about dream holidays: you can watch it again on the homepage. Finally we talked about holidays, where we usually go, the kind of holidays we go on and talked about advantages and disadvantages of different types of holidays.

Next Tuesday 11th December: Talk about Wales  18:30 Classrooms 10-11 upstairs.

Homework: Watch the video on past tenses on Grammar presentations. Do 6 Grammar: ex. b and c (p. 46, text is on p. 47), Writing: telling a story: exercise b (p. 116) and Vocabulary Bank: sport (p. 157).

Don't forget about the Christmas contests: the short story contest and the Christmas card contest.

11th December

​

We corrected the homework. 6 Grammar: ex. b and c (p. 46, text is on p. 47), Writing: telling a story: exercise b (p. 116). We also talked about your problems and mistakes in the writing: informal email that you got back. Later we did: the hand of God: ex. e  and 7 Speaking on p. 47 to practise the different past tenses.

In the 16:00 group we also designed a holiday in groups to upload on the blog, please don't forget. The 18:30 group went to the talk on Wales in the first part of the class.

Homework: Do Vocabulary Bank: sport (p. 157) if you didn't do it and Grammar Bank 5A (ex. a and b) on p. 140.

13th December

​

We corrected the homework: Vocabulary Bank: sport (p. 157) and Grammar Bank 5A (ex. a and b) on p. 140. Then, in pairs, we played a game in which we had to invent a story that explained the strange situations on the cards. Then we talked about sport and did 3 Speaking on p. 44. Finally, we listened to the song "We are the champions" by Queen, and did a listening activity about it.

18th December

​

We corrected the homework: exercises from photocopy on past tenses and comparatives and superlatives and complete a short sport story with the right tenses. Then, in pairs, we summarized our short sport stories to thour classmates. We talked about cheating in sport and did 5 Listening on p. 46. Later we did a roleplay in which we had to investigate a robbery in the school: some were police inspectors, the rest suspects and they had to question them about their alibi. Finally we played "Pasapalabra" with sport vocabulary in groups and we listened to Last Christmas by Wham, filling in the lyrics of the song (you can watch it again on the homepage).
